Did Hashem intend Jews to expect the world to revolve around them?
There's been a theme going on in my Jewish reading.... First I get an Email that had been through the gamut of FFB after FFB forwarding it to their friends... I should call the congress on behalf of RUBASHKIN... UM, NO, how about NOT. Then I read this article online. The trend seems to be clear to be as cutthroat as possible and not to care about anyone else, even other Jews, in the process.... It just seems counter-Torah to me... hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, what do you all think?

I think that it is often probably not the best thing, and I tend to disagree with these cases where people want to mobilize the community in defense of a criminal. I do, however, think that there are instances where people receive harsher treatment that is needed, and in such cases (whether they be non-Jews, frum Jews, frei Jews) I feel that people should speak up on their behalf.
ReplyDeleteI'm not in agreement with the people who act like the Jewish community is the only group of people in the world. I also think that the article that you cited regarding government assistance does have a few things that are illegal, which would be against the Torah. With regard to those things cited that aren't illegal, however, I'm not sure why they would be counter-Torah.
